Most Hermes tutorials start with a server and an affiliate link. This course doesn't. It starts with you, a Windows or Mac computer, and the honest question nobody answers: which version do I even install, and what do I do when it doesn't work? Seven calm lessons, from zero.

Why this course is different

Many Hermes tutorials emphasize hosted-server setups or assume prior technical context. The official docs are a strong reference; this course adds a guided local-laptop path for beginners.

This course is for the person who has used ChatGPT, heard "AI agent," and wants one running on their own machine today — without renting a server, typing mysterious commands, or already being a developer.

Before you start

No coding background or server is required. Hermes still needs a model provider: Nous Portal uses OAuth and is subscription-based, while other providers have their own access and billing terms. If you can open a browser and a file, you can follow this course.
